About Me
Γεια σας! Hello everyone, my name is Theano and I am a native Greek speaker. I live in a small town near Mt Olympus where I work as an online Greek teacher. I have completed my studies in Greek Philology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specialized in Linguistics, and I hold a Μaster's degree in Teaching Greek as a second or foreign language.
I have 7 years of tutoring and teaching experience and what I like about teaching is seeing my students progressing and becoming fluent speakers. I have worked in Private schools and in NGOs in Thessaloniki. I like to organize every lesson based on the individual needs of each student and
I always apply the Pedagogical and modern techniques I've learned in my studies. I provide lessons for beginners and advanced students as well.

My teaching experience, certification and methodology
In my 6 years of experience, I have worked with beginners and advanced students living in Greece or abroad and I help them learn and enrich their skills in the Greek language. I love using a communicative methodology where I give my students the chance to practice on speaking and listening, while at the same time we focus on grammar and expanding vocabulary.
I keep up to date with the latest learning methods according to the Language Science. My main goal is to create a comfortable teaching environment where I encourage the active participation of the student, through the interactive material I use.
• Practicing is the key for fluency, so I like to emphasize in creating conversations and real-life situations in order to be a confident speaker when you speak with your Greek relatives or when you visit Greece for your vacations or work.
• When learning a new language, you also learn a new culture and mentality, so I always provide videos, songs, books, audios, podcasts, pictures in order to help you to be familiar with the Greek culture and history.
